Akron PA Borough - Police DepartmentThe Akron Borough Police Department consists of 5 full-time Officers and 2 part-time Officers.
Our Department has Officers who are: Chief Zell has been an Akron Borough Police Officer since June 1986 and has been the Chief since 2005. Excluding the four years he served in the U.S. Army, he has lived his entire life in the Borough of Akron. Sergeant Greg Stone has served the Borough of Akron since 2006. Officer Mitchell Rogers has served the Borough of Akron since June 2016.
The Department also has 3 part-time officers: The Police Department utilizes three marked patrol vehicles. The Akron Borough Police Department reminds residents to lock their homes and vehicles to help protect themselves and their property against crime, please report any suspicious persons or activities immediately, and utilize crime prevention tools such as motion detector lights and dead bolt locks. Lancaster County Chief's Joint Hiring The Akron Borough Police Department is a member of the Lancaster County Chief’s of Police Joint Hiring Consortium. Anyone interested in becoming a full-time Police Officer with our Department must go through the application process.
