Akron PA Borough - Police Department

The Akron Borough Police Department consists of five full-time officers (including the Chief of Police and Sergeant) and four part-time officers. Two officers are certified bike patrol officers.

The Police Department utilizes three marked patrol vehicles and we also have two Trek Mountain Bikes for our bike patrol officers. The Akron Borough Police Department wants to remind residents to lock up their homes and vehicles to help protect themselves and their property against crime, report any suspicious persons or activities immediately, and utilize crime prevention tools such as motion detector lights and dead bolt locks.

Lancaster County Chief's Joint Hiring

The Lancaster County Chief's Joint Hiring physical agility test will be held at E-town College Sept 24th and 25th. The written exam will be held at the Lancaster County Public Training Center on Oct 2nd, 2011. Applications are availabable on the Borough Web Site. Anyone who is interested in testing for a Police Officer Position for any of the Lancaster County Police Departments listed, is required to apply.
